America's Cup Plymouth

Think you know sailing? Think again...

The first ever America's Cup World Series will arrive in Plymouth this autumn. Watch the thrills and spills of the most spectacular, fast and furious yacht racing with the world's best sailors from 10 to 18 September.

Visitors will be able to watch the week long regatta in the fabulous natural amphitheatre of Plymouth Sound and share in the experience of the international teams as they prepare the state of the art AC45 catamarans at the Race Village in Millbay.

America's Cup World Series

Nine teams will tear across the Sound on the newly designed, high tech AC45 catamarans. This is the first time America's Cup sailing has been taken to top venues around the world.

The first event is in Portugal in August, the second in Plymouth and then the third will be held in San Diego. The second half of the World Series will be held in 2012, the 34th America's Cup will be held in San Francisco in 2013.
