What a gem of a house in a fantastic location. Everyone we spoke to were so helpful. It is such a safe environment for the children. Great walks all around, the trip to Plymouth on the train over the viaduct was ‘Awesome’ to use our son’s words. For the exhausted mums I can recommend the Indian head massage from The Haven Natural Health Studio in the village. It was a perfect way to start the holiday. There was so much we didn’t have time to fit in this week that we just have to come back.

We’ve had a wonderful week in this lovely house. Would recommend the walk at Lydford Gorge, the walk along the river to Cotehele, the lighthouse in Plymouth the Lido (if the weather is good enough). The train ride to Plymouth is nice and quicker than the ‘journey in the car’.
We also enjoyed relaxing around the house, and today – our last day – we had a picnic out on the benches in front of the house.
The Tamar Inn is a good pub, and very good value.

Hi, Just a brief note to say we had a great week in Calstock. I hope we can get back there in future.
The cottage is a very impressive, well-equipped and comfortable place to stay, the Tamar-side location is entertaining in itself (though we were taken a bit by surprise when the Calstock Bike (and Biker) Show began to get underway on Thursday night!) and it's a great base for access to Devon and Cornwall locations in all directions.
    Thanks and regards

We had a lovely visit here. The house was really comfortable and very well equipped. We had a lovely walk to Cotehele and recommend that to everyone. The weather was fine and meant we were able to get out and about. Lydford Gorge was quite spectacular and we had lunch nearby at the Elephants nest worth the detour! The biker’s festival came as a bit of a surprise, but it was interesting to see the wide array of bikes. WE hope to return one day.

We stayed here over the May Bank Holiday and have really enjoyed our visit- the weather has been rubbish but it's ok because we took a trip to the Eden Project and Trago Mills and thoroughly enjoyed the food in the local pub! Oh we also run the Plymouth Half Marathon!!!! We'd love to come back when the days are sunnier and enjoy some of the local walks and do abit of kayaking on the river- a cottage to stay at in all weathers!

We stayed for a long weekend break over Easter. The weather was amazing, with a heat wave. We loved the Tamar river opposite, and sitting oustide the pub on the riverside. Walks to Cothele house were fantastic. The cottage is perfect, everything we needed, and a fantastic balcony with view of the river. Thanks. Be back next year...
